Senior Piping Designer


Job Description

The Senior Piping Designer works directly with the Piping Lead Designer and is responsible for gathering and analyzing technical data used to generate piping layout and detail drawings based on project scope documents, projects schedules and P & ID’s. This individual is expected to fulfill the requirements of the position and understands that the design process includes visiting clients’ facilities where they may be expected to perform physical work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the piping design performed by others, maintaining effective communication with project team members
  • Interfaces with other engineering disciplines, departments, suppliers, and clients
  • Assist in field work by obtaining information, making field sketches, and verifying drawings
  • Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly
  • Accepts other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

  • Fifteen (15) or more years piping design and equipment layout experience, working in one or more of the following service areas: Chemical, Polymer, Refining, Power
  • Experience in Consulting Engineering is desirable
  • Proficient in 3D piping design; AutoCAD 3D experience a plus

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
  • Authorize a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background
  • Submit to a drug test post offer
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Accepts that this position may require some domestic overnight travel
